Looking at Pokwang’s modern haven in Antipolo would mean seeing how hard she’s worked through the years. The construction of her house was in 2010 and was completed in just eight months. For the interiors, she hired the services of an interior designer; Janet Diquiatco-Torio. Pokwang said that this house is a reward for herself and investment as well.
Façade
Looking from the outside, you will realize that this is no simple house. It has a multi-level and modern structure with glass windows.
Foyer
The main door is designed with a decorative sunburst which has eight long and short rays. Pokwang said that it’s a symbol of hope and that design is her idea.
Once you enter the main door, her collection of Chinese figurines, scented candles, colorful gems, and Swarovski crystals will be the first thing that you will see. There’s a built-in ledge and underneath is a smiling Buddha along with a koi fish ornament.
Living Area
This area is very spacious and warm. It’s full of entrancing and earth colors. The comfy seats complement the high ceiling. There’s a neutral rug to anchor the room. According to Pokwang, some items in the hose were already in place when she moved in. There were some paintings and a TV which was placed beneath the stairs.
The stairs in the house have metal support and without any risers. A captivating chandelier with miniature lights hangs up by the ceiling. There are big windows where the lights stream in. The wonderful view of Antipolo can be seen through these windows. Facing the east, the house is greeted with a soothing light once the sun rises.
Dining & Kitchen Area
This area of the house is dominated by yellow colors because according to Pokwang, this part of the house is a tribute to Kris Aquino who’s a good friend of hers. Over the elegant 8-seater dining table hangs a chandelier with teardrop-shaped bulbs which add more character to the dining area. There’s a console which holds some décor pieces and above it is a Last Supper painting of Roy Morelos.
The kitchen area is also full of yellow colors. It’s one of the favorite spots of Pokwang. The area is complete with topnotch appliances, storage room options, wall-cabinet system, and drawers. There’s a U-shaped, spacious counter top and a mini island in the center.
Pokwang’s Bedroom
The comedienne’s room is the only room on the third floor of the house. It’s designed like a hotel; finished with elegant furnishing and a combination of neutral and vivid colors. Space is full of colors cream and brown and accented by lime green and orange which Pokwang considers as her lucky color.
Her bed is customized and designed by a tufted headboard. The bed to ceiling headboard makes the room a lavish feel. Her dresser fills up the entire wall on one side of her sleeping area. Her bags are kept inside the shelves which have glass doors. On one part of the shelves are her most favorite collection of perfumes.
Walk-in Closet & Bathroom
Her walk-in closet isn’t only spacious but it also looks like an expensive boutique. It has a cute chandelier, huge cabinets, and tufted seat.
There’s a shower cabin in her hotel-like and roomy bathroom that can also be a sauna at the same time. The towels are places in the open shelves which is highlighted with mosaic tiles. As if that’s not enough, there’s a wide countertop that holds all the toiletries. A big mirror hang above the countertop that has cabinets which hold the cleaning materials used in the bathroom.
2nd Floor Walk-in Closet
Aside from her huge walk-in closet in Pokwang’s third-floor bedroom, she has another walk-in closet beside her daughter’s bedroom on the second floor. Her costumes and outfits are kept in this area.
Mae’s Bedroom
Her daughter Mae’s bedroom looks like a typical girl’s room. It has altering shades of sweet colors. The walls have a lighter shade while the headboard has a darker one. The cabinets are painted with color white with some elegant prints. There’s a glass door cabinet where the stuff toy collection of Mae is kept. On one side of the room is a built-in desk and storage where she does her school requirements. The chair completes the color motif of the room, giving it the same shade with the bed; fuchsia.
Her bathroom is a mix of colors white, black, and pink. Black colored tiles were used for the floor.
Shin’s Bedroom
This room was built for Pokwang’s son who had already passed away; Shin. The room is dominated with the color green and is also filled with décor and other accessories; making it no different from the other rooms. This room in the house was and will never be used but Pokwang still equipped it with a TV along with other personal details because this room is in memory of her son.
Dino’s Bedroom
Dino is the comedienne’s brother and personal assistant. His room is located on the second floor and painted with color blue. The room’s nothing fancy but is very comfy.
The room has its own bathroom which takes after the bathrooms in Hotel Sofitel.
Prayer Room
Surprisingly, a door inside Pokwang’s bedroom leads to the prayer room. This is where she spends time to pray and thank the Lord for the blessings that have come her way.
It has a garden which can also be used as a meditation area. Her family wanted this area to be made into a gym but she declined because she really wanted it to be a prayer area.
