How to Apply SSS Housing Loan for OFW – Requirements and Qualifications

The Social Security System is offering housing loan for Overseas Filipino Workers. It is one of the shelter program of the government aiming to provide low-cost and socialized housing to OFWs. If you’re interested about this program, read on.

Who Qualifies for the Housing Loan

An OFW must be a certified member of SSS
Must contribute at last 36 monthly premium and 24 continuous contributions prior of filing application
The member is not yet a senior citizen and must be insurable
The member has not been granted SSS housing loan in the previous years
Both the borrower and the spouse is updated in paying other SS loans

SSS Housing Loan Requirements

Just like applying for any housing loan, the borrower is also required to secure and submit the necessary requirements including the following:

The borrower should secure the original copy of the following documents:

Application for OFW housing loan and 1×1 ID photos of Principal applicant and her or his spouse
Certificate of Loan Eligibility
Certification from POEA/OWWA/DOLE/SSS or Philippine Consular Office or embassy
Contract to Sell or Deed of Sale stating the latest balance for purchase of house and lot or lot
Appraisal Report from accredited appraisal companies
Certificate of Acceptance and Occupancy
Notarized Special Power of Attorney

Original and photocopy of the following documents:

Updated Employer’s certification authenticated by the Philippine Consulate and updated Contract of employment
Owner’s copy of CCT/OCT/TCT
Certified true copy of CCT/OCT/TCT issued by Register of Deeds
Latest realty tax receipt and property tax declaration

The borrower will also be required to provide other pertinent documents including:

Blue print of the lot plan signed by a registered Geodetic Engineer or Surveyor
Blue print of building plans/picture of the house/specifications
Subdivision plan or tax mapping
12 postdated cheques covering 12 monthly installments
Affidavit of Undertaking to pay the monthly SSS Premium until the housing loan is fully paid

The OFW borrower can apply for maximum loan amount of P2,000,000.00 but may also varies depending on the appraised value and the capability of the borrower to pay.

The OFW housing loan is payable from 5 to 15 years. However, the age of the borrower during the loan maturity should not exceed 65 years old. Likewise, the loan term should be within the discretion of the SSS appraiser.

The interest rate is:

For P450,000.00 loan amount, the interest rate is 8% per annum
For up to P1,000,000.00 the interest rate is 9% per annum

The principal borrower can use collateral such as Original certificate of Title/Transfer Certificate Title. The SSS also accepts other residential properties to secure the loan. The OFW borrower can repay the loan through electronic bills payment options or bank transfer.

Things to Consider When Applying for PAG-IBIG Multi-Purpose Salary Loan

Being employed gives you the opportunity to enjoy some benefits like SSS, PhilHealth and PAG-IBIG. The benefits and services offered by PAG-IBIG Fund are really great help for employed individuals both in government and private.

This government agency is offering Multi-Purpose Salary Loan for qualified borrowers. Such loan helps borrowers to suffice their needs including:

Home improvements or renovations
Small business capital
Medical and educational expenses
Credit card and bills payments
Debt consolidation
Car repair and travel

However, before you can qualify for this type of loan, you must comply first the required amount of contribution. For employed individual the monthly contribution is P200 a month shared equally by both the employer and employee. The borrower must complete the 24 months’ contribution before he or she can avail the salary loan.

The amount of loan depends on the number of months the member contributed multiplied by the amount of contribution. If the member had contributed 30 months, 60% of the total accumulated contributions is applied.

How to apply PAG-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan?

If you’re planning to apply for multi-purpose salary loan you should prepare the following requirements:

Photocopies of signature-bearing IDs and two valid photos
Latest pay slip indicating the monthly wage
Accomplished PAG-IBIG Multi-purpose Loan Form

Likewise, make sure you know some information about your employer as you’ll need it in filling out the application form.

PAG-IBIG employer ID number
GSIS or SSS number
Signature of employer’s Authorized Signatory or head of Office

After accomplishing the form, you can visit any PAG-IBIG branch in your area and submit the documents for approval.

Processing of loan takes about two weeks.

Loan repayment method

For employed applicant the monthly payment will be deducted directly from your salary. However, for self-employed, you can choose any of the following payment options:

Pay directly to PAG-IBIG office
Pay through accredited banks
Over-the-counter

The loan is payable within 24 months and the loan interest per year is 10.75%.

Renewal of loan is granted if the borrower has paid at least six months of the present loan and the balance will be withheld from your new loan.

Philippine Air Force Qualifications:

Just like any other jobs or careers, there is a set of qualifications for those who wish to apply. As for PAF, the applicant can be either a male or female and must be a natural born Filipino citizen.

He or she must also be single and that means not married or no obligation to a child. When it comes to height, both male and female applicants must be at least 5’0 ft. Applicants must also be college degree holders or they should have completed at least 72 units in college and should be between the ages of 21 and 29 years for PAFOC, and between 18 and 23 for CS.

Lastly, these applicants should not only be physically fit for training, but they have to be mentally prepared too. They must not have any records of misconduct and have certification of good moral character.

Philippines Army applicants must have the following qualifications:

Before anything else, your qualifications will be important in determining whether you can take the next steps or not, like the examinations and the training. To become a PMA cadet, applicants must be natural born Filipino citizens and must be single and never married. They should be at least 5’0 when it comes to height and this is true for both men and women. They should have good moral character, no records of misconduct or records of administrative or criminal case. They must be between 17 and 22 years old but they should not be a day older than 22 years on the first of April on the year when they will be taking the examination.

Now these are just the basic requirements for the cadet position, but for those who want to apply for the Officer Candidate Course, there is a different set of requirements that they need to comply and that includes their college degree, passing of the AFPSAT and pre-qualifying exams and they must be between 21 to 29 years old by the time they get admitted. They should also be physically, psychologically and mentally fit and should pass the Physical Fitness Test and the Physical Medical Exam conducted by the Philippine Army recruitment team.

For enlisted personnel, similar requirements are needed, only that the applicants must be between 18 and 26 years of age, and they should reach a score of 80 percent or higher in the AFP Aptitude Test Battery.
