Teacher Carried Her Wounded Student in Crossing the Street

September 8, 2019 By proudbrown

Teachers are considered a child’s second parent. Aside from the parents, the teachers are the ones responsible for instilling the right values in children. Most of the time, they also learn to love their students like their own. This was proven by Jessica Hayloni, a MAPEH (Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health) teacher in Iloilo City High School in Molo, Iloilo when she carried her student to avoid the flood. The teacher didn’t mind bearing the weight of the student as long as it will prevent her from any harm that can be encountered in crossing the flooded street.

A netizen, Regina Sasana Escueta posted on her Facebook account regarding the incident that she had witnessed. It was seen in her post how the teacher carried her student so that she won’t get leptospirosis. Leptospirosis is a dangerous bacterial disease that can be acquired from the urine of rats. She was aware that the student has a wound in her foot and it would be dangerous for her to submerge in the water. The classes were suspended at that time because of the heavy rains. The act of the teacher gained admiration from the netizens who saw the post. Many netizens commented that the act of the teacher was worth posting and can serve as an inspiration to fellow teachers. Many wished that there will be more teachers who will have that concern for their students.

Seeing a post like this is such a welcome respite on the online world. It will remind people that despite the seemingly worsening situations nowadays, there are still people around who care for the welfare of other people. There are still those that are willing to take risks to help those who are in need. This only goes to show that kind and compassionate people still exist.

Nagising na Lamang sila sa Iyak ng Kanilang Anak, Hindi nila akalain na may Insektong Pumasok sa Tenga nito

September 7, 2019 By proudbrown

The mother of a young girl named Jelliane awoke one night to the screams of her daughter. At first, they weren’t sure what happened but then found out that an insect went inside their daughter’s ear. They initially thought it was an ant but discovered it was bigger. They tried to remedy the situation by plucking the insect out but to no avail. Since they feared for their daughter’s safety, they brought her to the hospital where it took almost an hour to get the insect out of the ear.

Their daughter suffered bleeding and almost fainted and turned pale because of what happened. The doctor at Ccarlan Hospital told them that it became hard for him to pluck the insect out because it was already deep into the ear of their daughter. The insect, they found out, was a cockroach. They felt relieved as any concerned parents would be when their daughter was safe from the infection and harm of the insect.

Any loving parent will fear for the life of their children. It’s a blessing that they have brought the kid to the hospital when they couldn’t take the insect out of her ear. Kudos, too, to the doctor who saved her from the insect’s harm. No one wants for things like this to happen but sometimes it is unavoidable especially if the house is infested. It’s important to use an insecticide to minimize infestation in the house to keep everyone safe.

It’s also advisable to keep the house clean all the time to avoid insects inside. Some people cover their ears when sleeping. If you can do that, it’s better. For loving parents, taking care of their children is a must that’s why it’s a depressing sight when things like this happen. It’s a good thing the daughter was safe after she was brought to the hospital.

Dalagita bigla na lamang Nanginig Dahil sa Sobrang Paggamit ng Smartphone

September 5, 2019 By proudbrown

The invention of mobile phones has given positive results but has become very dangerous to one’s health especially for those addicted to using their gadgets day and night. It can take a toll on their health because of the radiation it emits. Take the case of Sol Poblete Manahan sister, who rushed her sister to the hospital because of the effect of too much use of a mobile phone.

She couldn’t believe that what she usually just read in the headlines about the effects of mobile phones would happen to her sister. She narrated on her Facebook post what happened. Her sister was an example of a true mobile phone addict. She would just stay in the room all day; checking out her phone now and then even just upon waking up. She would even neglect eating meals and was content as long as her phone’s with her.

One time, their mother asked her to cook rice and she obliged but told her that she’s feeling dizzy and felt like vomiting. Before that, she was still able to buy rice from the store. She vomited then continued what she was doing. After a while, she collapsed and had a seizure. They rushed her to the hospital because she can’t stand anymore and seemed like having a convulsion.

In the hospital, the doctor told then that she’s dehydrated and her blood pressure was very low. Furthermore, the pedia said that her sister wasn’t the only one to be rushed in the hospital with the same case. There have been frequent emergency cases resulting from the radiation that gadgets emit. Ms. Manahan advised mothers out there to keep their children from gadgets to avoid this kind of emergency case. Kids and grown-ups alike should avoid getting hooked on gadgets to ensure that their health will be spared from too much damage.

SSS Members Who Lost Their Jobs May Receive Up to 10k Monthly

February 25, 2019 By proudbrown

The new law signed by President Duterte can be good news to all SSS members as it gives the privilege to claim for unemployment assistance. Losing a job can cause difficulty in a person’s life particularly in meeting the daily needs.

Social Security System (SSS) members who are about to lose their work may now claim an unemployment insurance benefit amounting to up to Php 10,000.00. The unemployment insurance also referred to as involuntary benefits under the SSS is among the provisions of the Social Security act of 2019 (R.A Act no. 11199).

According to the legislation’s principal author, Senator Richard Gordon, the provision of this involuntary separation benefit is the first of its kind in the history of the country. SSS members may be able to claim up to ten thousand pesos a month if they had been paying their SSS contribution under the maximum amount of the salary credit. The money can be used by the member to find another job – fast. Members are only allowed to claim benefit equivalent to 50% of their average salary credit per month for a maximum of 2 months.

Only SSS members whose age is 60 below can make a claim. To qualify for the said benefit, they should also have made at least thirty-six months of contributions. The member should have made the 12 months of the contribution within the eighteen-month period before the involuntary separation or unemployment.  Unemployed SSS members can only claim a benefit once every 3 years.

Apart from the involuntary benefit, the R.A 11199 also has a provision that makes all overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who ages 60 below an automatic member of SSS. Currently, SSS has 500,000 OFW members. Since the signing of the legislation, the number of SSS members is expected to increase to two and a half million.

Although the unemployed SSS members may find the new law beneficial, some may not be too happy about the factors of it. From the current 11% contribution rate, members need to deal with a 1% increase every 2 years until the rate reaches 15% in 2025.

Manny Pacquiao is Set to Build First-Class Medical Center in General Santos

February 19, 2019 By proudbrown

Manny Pacquiao is not only a boxing legend, a Senator, and a basketball player. Manny Pacquiao is also a kind-hearted man who will build his hometown’s first first-class medical center. The billionaire plans to help the local community of his hometown and give them the best medical services they need. The medical center will not only help those in need from General Santos but also residents outside town. Manny Pacquiao plans to do this because he is a well-known health advocate.

first class hospital

Mjevent And Talents (Humprey Jamila Martinez) posted on Facebook five photos of an establishment which some guess is the Manny Pacquiao Medical Center though there aren’t confirmations yet. The photos are miniature versions of the medical center. People were also quick to say that it looks like a lavish hotel than a hospital. It’s of course, a first-class facility and thousands can benefit from it once they are finished building.

It’s not surprising that Manny Pacquiao can build a medical center like this. He’s very rich with over Php3.072B of net worth and it won’t be hard for him to get investors for this project. If this project pushes through, thousands will benefit from it. They can help many people so let’s all wish they have a charity department set to help those who need it. As we all know, poverty is prevalent in the country and the local community could use the help of rich people not just from this country but from other countries as well.

This initiative will take years to build but once it is operational then people will see if it’s really for the benefit of many. Let’s all hope that Manny Pacquiao’s efforts will address the needs of his ‘kababayans’. How about you, what do you think of this project?
