Just like joining in Philippine Army many young Filipinos have aspired to join the Philippine Navy simply because they have a heart of being a patriot and they want to serve the country with so much joy and pride.
The Philippine Navy is one of the branches of the AFP or the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the ones who join in have the desire not only to serve but also protect the country against any threat or conflict with other countries. It is focused on deploying forces to sustain maritime operations whenever needed, in accordance to the AFP mission.
If you also want to be a part of the Philippine Navy, here are the things that you need to know.
● In order to be eligible, you must be a natural born Filipino citizen, who is at least 5 feet in height. You must also be single, with no children, and should be a person of good moral character. You must be physically and mentally fit and be able to pass the examinations set for you to take.

● For enlisted applications, they must be between the ages 18 to 23 years old and should have earned a bachelor’s degree in college, or finished at least 72 units. A two-year associate course or vocational course will also do. However, it would be better if they have taken anything that is related to the fields of electronics, communications, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, welding, aircraft and operation of heavy equipment.
● For those who aspire to be officer applicants, they must be a graduate or 4 or 5 year course but it is preferred that they have taken bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE or Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, IT related courses, Civil Engineering and Naval and Maritime Transportation.
● Qualified applicants are required to undergo the Basic Seamanship Course training, and as for navy officers, the training is called Navy Officers Candidate Course.
