Korea is one of the destinations that is frequently visited by different foreign nationals including Filipinos.
The rise of Koreanovelas, K-Pop and Korean diaspora has made Filipinos attracted to visit South Korea. Before you can travel to this place, you’ll need to apply for Visa particularly those first-timers. You can do it your own, but if you don’t have time to secure the requirements, you can seek help from a travel agent.

Korea tourist visa processing takes about a week and you can directly apply from the Korean Embassy located at Bonifacio Global City. If your visit will last no more than 59 days, you need not pay for the visa fee. However, if you will stay in Korea for more than 60 days, the visa fee is P1,800.
Basic requirements
- Secure and fill out the korean visa application form
- Passport valid for a minimum of 6 months
- Photocopy of passport Bio page
- Passport size colored picture attached on the application form
- Invitation letter (if you are invited by a Korean)
Once you secure all the basic requirements, you still need to provide other additional requirements to prove that you are financially capable to support your trip to Korea.
For employed applicants
Employed applicants must secure and provide additional documents including the following:
- Certificate of employment indicating the address, contact number and email address of the employer, compensation and date hired
- Original copy of personal bank certificate showing the type of account, account opening date, current balance and ADB
- Original copy of passbook or bank statements for the previous 3 months
- Form 2316 or photocopy of Income tax return
For self-employed
- Photocopy of ITR
- Original copy of personal bank certificate
- Photocopy of Business permit
- Photocopy of business registration certificate issued by the SEC or DTI
For housewives
Housewives applying for Korean Visa must secure the following documents of the spouse:
- Original bank certificate (husband’s account)
- Original certificate of employment of your husband
- Photocopy of ITR
- Photocopy of Marriage certificate issued by the NSO
For students
- Original bank certificate of the parents
- Photocopy of parent’s DTI/SEC permit or Mayor’s permit or original certificate of employment
- Photocopy of parents’ income tax return
- Photocopy of school ID
- Photocopy of applicants’ birth certificate issued by the NSO
Visa applicants having stamps from previous trips have higher chances of visa approval. The stamps proved that you can finance your trips and had returned back to the Philippines after the duration of your travels. Likewise, make sure to provide realistic bank account statement to avoid suspicion from the embassy.
